COURSE DESCRIPTION
Accounting I is a yearlong course designed to familiarize students with the recording, classification, posting, and summation of a complete accounting cycle (GAAP). The purpose of this course is to help students understand the double-entry system of accounting and work through an accounting cycle for various types of businesses. Topics include general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, inventory, correcting, adjusting, closing entries, income statements, balance sheets, and more! This rigorous course can be fast-faced and students will be required to work efficiently to help them succeed. Students in this course are encouraged to join BPA (Business Professionals of America).
